Reciting kavita, giving short talks, debating, and getting genuinely comfortable in front of a microphone — coached live on Zoom by someone who's done it for 20 years.
Most kids freeze the first time they're handed a microphone. This class is built around getting past that, gradually and for real — not a one-off "confidence workshop," but a weekly habit of standing up, finding your voice, and getting better every time.
Founder Gurpreet Kaur has coached students in kavita recitation and public speaking for 20 years, including at real stage competitions — the kind of events you'll see in the photo here.
Reciting kavita with the right rhythm and expression. Structuring and delivering a short talk on a topic. Basic debate: making a point, backing it up, responding to the other side. Voice projection, pacing, and losing the habit of reading everything off a page. Every six weeks (one level), students get a real chance to perform — in class, and at the academy's monthly assembly.
Kids who go quiet the moment attention turns to them. Kids who talk plenty at home but freeze in front of a class. Teens preparing for school debates, school assemblies, or community events. This subject uses some Punjabi words and phrasing, so if a student is a complete beginner in spoken Punjabi, we may suggest pairing it with Punjabi Language.
