Punjabi Language starts with the Gurmukhi alphabet — ਐੜਾ, ਈੜੀ, ਉੜਾ and onward — and builds toward reading Gurbani and everyday text, writing your own sentences, and holding a real conversation. It's not a weekend hobby class: each student works through a structured five-level path with clear checkpoints along the way.
Classes are live and small, usually 4 to 10 students, once a week for two hours, on Monday. You'll get short practice between classes — writing sheets, vocabulary cards, and short recordings — so progress keeps moving outside class time too.
There's no exam to begin — everyone starts at Level 1 unless they test into a higher one. A six-year-old and a sixty-year-old can sit in the very same class, moving through the same five levels at their own pace.

Complete beginners who've never seen Gurmukhi before. Heritage speakers who can talk but never learned to read or write. Adults relearning a language their grandparents spoke. Punjabi Language is the most common starting subject at Sikhi Noor Academy, and pairs naturally with Kirtan or Sikhism if you're ready to take on more than one subject.
